Love and Light,
I have received MANY wonderful emails (and orders) responding to these new products - Thanks to all of you for your support of this new venture!
Love and Light,
Hi all, I am writing to let you know that our new line of clothing is ready for viewing/purchasing in our shop! I have designed leggings, capris, yoga capris and some skirts, all printed with images from my paintings. FYI 5% of profits from sales will be donated to various social justice organizations that are near and dear to me .
I hope you are well and dipping deep into the richness of life and love and are navigating what seems to be unprecedented chaos in our political system, with clarity. I know for me, one of the gifts of this time is that it has awakened my inner activist and I have been able to find ways to plug in and voice my concerns and my vision for our country, in ways that are new for me. One could say that I have stepped into citizenry more deeply, bringing with me a deep conscious awareness and desire to serve the reality that we are all one.
Blessings on your journey, wherever it takes you,
I am writing a quick post here to let you know that we are having a CD sale! All CDs, even the newest, Clair Oaks 7, are $5.00! I am not sure how long the sale will last but do take advantage! Fewer people have a way to play CDs which is a challenge for musicians like myself who have depended on CD sales in the past. If you and/or your students/friends/family, still play CDs, this pricing is even less than downloads cost. Please help me spread the word by sharing my website, www.clairoaks.com with your peeps! Thanks so much for all you do to support my work. I am truly grateful that my music has inspired you!
Happy New Year!
The world is a complex place, have you noticed? Nothing new in that, but this election season, the social climate in our world today, and this article I just read by some scientists working on GMOs, have me pondering. There are so many sides, so many angles, and so many perspectives to look at our own AND the worlds' issues. It's easy to take a side and run with it without really being well and accurately informed and staying well and accurately informed as new information becomes available. It can feel very overwhelming to me, hence the temptation to just take a position and then back it up with all kinds of info that is floating around the internet, not always checking its validity. The GMO issue, like so many things we judge, judge each other and our political leaders for, can be far more complex than Facebook posts and comments might have us believe...which is, I know, an inconvenient Truth.
The article I read is just an example...it didn't change my mind about GMOs but it gave me a fuller perspective. There are people trying to reduce suffering and help nourish those in need... and then there are people trying to fill their pockets and become richer...I knew that, but the article went into detail about the complexities on the science that I don't, I confess, always take the time to read. Sometimes there just aren't clearcut easy answers...the mind would prefer that there are, that's why it latches on to a "position" so fervently. It likes to feel certain, in this way, it grasps for a sense (albeit a false one) of safety.
Knowing this about the nature of the mind, can I challenge myself to stay even more open, to live in the questions, the "not knowing"? Can I endeavor to keep my heart and mind even more open to my own suffering and ignorance and the same in others? Can I be even more aware when the mind is doing its' self-righteous clamp-down? Can I keep loving instead? Not in some forced way, but rather by staying connected to a deeper place within? Beyond the static of opinion and reason? Can I keep listening... even more?

Just wanted to share our schedule of events coming up over the next few months. Also, we just released a slightly different version of the first track on my new album Clair Oaks 7. The track is called "Now" and the version we released on the album is just a little bit different. During the recording process of Clair Oaks 7, I revised some of the lyrics on that track and somehow - they didn't make it on to the new recording. So...we just worked with Ben Leinbach (mixing) and Stevin McNamara (mastering) to re release the new version for your listening pleasure! It's only slightly different - see if you can find the change!
It is available at Bandcamp (we replaced the track that was there so when you download that track or the album, you'll get the new version) and at CDbaby we are releasing it as a single which means it will be sent out to digital outlets like iTunes as well but that may take a week or two. Enjoy!
Hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!

“Moving body and spirit, uplifting and harmonizing from within. Thank you Clair for your truly radiant music!” --Hattie Webb (part of Leonard Cohen's band for 6 years).
Good Morning All,
Like many a new thing, our ordering process for Clair Oaks 7 has had a few growing pains. We are finding our feet and working out the kinks.
The dropdown menu on our website (www.clairoaks.com) for the new album, as with all of the albums, offers either Single CD or Bulk (6+) CD pricing. The dropdown for the single CD option wasn't working properly and has now been fixed - YAY!
Also, as of yesterday, the CD is available at www.cdbaby.com. Clair Oaks 7will be distributed via many digital partners as well, including iTunes within the next few weeks. And of course, you can visit www.clairoaks.bandcamp.com for downloads right now. Keep in mind, at Bandcamp, you can only download to a computer, not directly to your other devices. HOWEVER, once you have the album on your computer, say, in iTunes or wherever you keep your music, you will be able to sync it to other devices like iPads or your phone.
Please email us if you have had any problems or if you have any questions about the ordering process. We are here to help!
Lastly, thanks so much for your support and for all the wonderful feedback we've been getting about the Clair Oaks 7. If you hear it, and enjoy it, consider spreading the word on social media and any other way you may be inspired to do so. We need all the help we can get to get the music out there to those who may be touched by it.
Besos de Mexico,
Growing something takes time, patience, and nurturing. Whether it's a garden, a piece of art, music or a child, you must devote yourself to it if you are to truly give your heart to its' care. It becomes more and more a part of you, and you of it, as you share yourself and travel the long road of "becoming" together. And then, in perfect timing, that "something" is ready--it knows when, it lets YOU know it's time. And at that point, it makes its way into the world.
I am happy to announce that after almost 3 years, my 7th Album--"Clair Oaks 7" has been born!
AND we have a free song download for you (that is NOT on the album) HERE!
May this be a morning of innocent beginning,
When the gift within you slips clear
Of the sticky web of the personal…
A morning when you become a pure vessel
For what wants to ascend from silence…
(from p 17 “To Bless the Space Between Us”)
If you are interested in more information about the album read on!

"Chanting for me, is a musical shout out to the fact that we are all LOVE, made of LOVE, that LOVE is the answer, whatever the question. If we as humans, could experience the reality of this, how might we change the world we live in... I love to chant as a way to access and celebrate that. This whole album is a shout out and an expression of that LOVE" - Clair

Dear Beings of Light and Love,
Holiday Greetings to you! I am writing to let you know that for the month of December, 25% of all painting proceeds will benefit a family in need. My dear friend and bandmate, Susan Graves (who is also the mother of my Goddaughter), has made the difficult decision to have a double mastectomy because she has a gene mutation (BRCA 2) that puts her at a very high risk of breast cancer. Susan is a wonderfully skilled massage therapist and, due to the nature of this surgery, she will not be able to work for many weeks while she recovers. The fundraiser is to help with her family's loss of income while she is convalescing and to cover medical expenses that won't be covered by insurance. If you would like to donate and learn more about Susan's decision, please click here to visit the fundraiser page.
If you've been contemplating purchasing a painting--this would be a wonderful time to do so. You'll have a beautiful piece of art and be helping Susan's family at the same time. You can visit my shop at my new website to see the pieces that are currently available.
There are so many worthy causes that need our attention these days--thank you for considering this one and may the spirit of giving in this beautiful season, open your heart wide.
WE DID IT!!! THANK YOU ALL! We met our goal and the campaign is over. Now, we finish this project! YAY! We will let you know when it's ready. In the mean time, my shop at my website is totally updated as of today and you can browse the paintings that are available for sale.
PLEASE NOTE: From now until Christmas, 20% of proceeds from painting sales will go to another campaign that I am helping to raise money for. My dear friend, bandmate and all around wonderful person, Susan Graves has made the difficult decision to have a preventative double mastectomy due to her BRCA status, which puts her at a high risk for certain types of cancer. Although insurance will pay for the surgery, there will be lots of out-of-pocket costs and significant loss of income since she runs her own massage therapy business and will be missing weeks of work. So now your purchase of art work will be helping an important cause as well.
Wishing you and yours a meaningful holiday season. I look forward to hearing from you.

Crowdfunding is amazing because it allows artists, musicians and others to create community around a shared inspiration, project, or need. It opens us to opportunities to come together and help each other realize our dreams and visions and offer our unique gifts to the world. People helping people--anything that inspires that is a beautiful thing and, in my view, the wave of the future.
Thanks again for all you have already done - we are in the home stretch, Let's see what we can do together. Thank You! xo, Clair
Our dear Earth's daylight diminishes a bit more each day, as we head towards the Winter Solstice in December. While we navigate our path with less light, can we allow the darkness to encourage us to focus inside more? A time to consider, to take stock and ask ourselves if we are fully living the life we wish to live?
This has been quite a busy season for me, still, I have been pondering these questions. I hope you are doing the same, and I hope that if you find you are not, that you muster the courage and wisdom to adjust your course so that you are truly answering your souls calling, whatever form that takes.
As we approach the last week of our campaign, I am taking stock and considering if there is more I can do to participate fully in my life. Can I be more present day to day with my loved ones and with anyone who I come in contact with daily, can I be more present with myself? Can I stay present amidst all the activity of the campaign and live the knowing that, all is as it is, and see the perfection in that?
I am told that the middle of these campaigns do often slow down and then surge in the final week of the campaign. I am trusting that this one will follow a similar path (campaign ends November 17)! With your help - I know it will.
We still have some wonderful thank you gifts for donors and I hope you'll encourage friends and family to possibly join you and take a (or another) look and maybe even do some holiday shopping on our perks page.
Blessings on your week and thank you again for your donations, for sharing the campaign and for your support. You. Guys. Rock.
Spring Greetings everyone,
I thought I’d send out a little notice that I am home from Mexico and painting again. There are new paintings in the Gallery so you may want to take a look…
Our trip to San Miguel was beyond my wildest dreams, amazing. I truly have found a place that has deeply touched my heart/mind/soul. I posted on my Facebook page during the trip but not as much as I did last year – I was so enthralled I just allowed myself to experience it and was less inclined to take photos as much (still fully documented!). So, here are a few gems from the trip. I hope you enjoy them. The colors and feel of my experience there has definitely inspired my paintings. Happy Spring!
